• MSQ progress: caught upBackground: After the Seventh Umbral Calamity, Elfé woke up on the shores of Lake Silvertear, bereft of memories about who she was and how she got there. She was found by scouts looking for survivors who took her back to Revenant's Toll, where she was nursed back to health. Without any idea where her home or family was, the healers suggested that she become an adventurer, since they get to travel around a lot and maybe one day she will come across someone who will recognize her. So once she was back on her feet, she headed out to learn the trade of adventuring, eventually heading to Limsa Lominsa to become an Arcanist. She has lived in the city for a few years by the time she met Y'Shtola and got recruited by the Scions. Still longing for a sense of home and purpose, she accepted their invitation.She eventually reunited with her father during her stay in Ishgard. Her father was a captain of the Temple Knights who served in Ishgard during the Calamity, while Elfé and her mother stayed behing in their small village in Coerthas. She also learned that her original name is Felicia, and while she was miraculously whisked away to Mor Dhona, her mother perished in the Calamity. She later learned that Hydaelyn had to transport her through the Lifestream in order to save her life, which was what caused her to lose her memories.

• MSQ progress: ShB patchesBackground: Lalka was born in one of the hidden villages of the Rava in the Golmore Jungle. Like all viera, he was expected to follow the code of the Green Word when he came of age, yet he could not accept it when he turned to be "female". When none of the older males were willing to take him under their wing, he was prepared to leave the village by himself but his mother refused to let him leave alone and offered that they move to Dalmasca instead. She knew that meant they could never return to their village but she wanted Lalka to be able to be himself. Deeply touched by his mother's gesture, Lalka vowed to always stay in touch with her, despite the expectation for male viera to live in solitude.They lived in Dalmasca for about five years when the city fell to the Garleans, and Lalka's mother was killed in the invasion. Cursing his own weakness and inability to protect her and their home, Lalka made it his life's mission to fight the Garlean Empire wherever he could. For the next 25 years, he lived as a travelling mercenary, lending his strength to various resistance factions and honing his martials skills. One day, the news about a terrible calamity that struck Eorzea reached him and when he learned it was related to the Empire, he set out to see the damage for himself and to lend his aid where he could once more. He settled in Ul'dah, since the desert city reminded him of his old home. It was there where he met Thancred and was recruited by the Scions.

Rémy Devin

• MSQ progress: start of HWBackground: Rémy grew up in Gelmorra with his parents. Due to Duskwights being discriminated in Gridania, his parents stifled his ambitions to discover the world outside of their city, which put a strain on their relationship. Their lives were turned upside down when the Calamity destroyed Gelmorra and Rémy's father lost his life, which Rémy felt rather conflicted about. Now being forced to start a new life in Gridania, it was not long before his mother's grief and resentment of their situation boiled over into resentment towards her son, eventually making it unbreable for him to live with her. He left to live on his own, navigating life in the Black Shroud as best as he could and trying to earn enough gil to travel. After the encounter with Yda and Papalymo, he was quick to take the opportunity to join the Scions. Initially, he did not care much about the Primals or the Garlean Empire and just wanted a change of pace but he slowly grew fond of the Scions and started to believe in their mission.
